Twenty months of intense work and major investments by the BF SPA group have given productivity back to the estate in Sardinia – 1,100 hectares of organic farming (wheat, legumes, vegetables and officinal herbs). On 7 June, the BF Sarde project was inaugurated with an open-day in the new headquarters in Marrubiu (Oristano, Italy).
The BF Sarde Project Returns Vitality to the Economy of the Territory
Pride and satisfaction. In just over 20 months, an area that was not cultivated for almost a decade and which seemed to be doomed to oblivion has returned to production. 1,100 hectares of land in the province of Oristano, between the Municipalities of Marrubiu, Arborea and Terralba, in the south-west of Sardinia, now represent one of the most important centers for 100% Italian organic production, nationwide. The BF Spa group has invested the necessary resources to transform a sterile and abandoned place into a project of considerable value, destined to give great impetus to the economy of the whole territory. The inauguration took place on Friday 7 June 2019, at the new headquarters in Marrubiu. This is an appointment and, above all, a very important goal for Bonifiche Ferraresi, which follows the inauguration of the business center in Cortona (1,500 hectares) a short time later. The event was attended by the President of BF Spa, Rossella Locatelli, the CEO of BF SpA, Federico Vecchioni, the President of Coldiretti, Ettore Prandini, the General Secretary of Coldiretti Vincenzo Gesmundo, the Coldiretti Regional President, Battista Cualbu, Council member for Agriculture, Gabriella Murgia, the Mayor of Marrubiu, Andrea Santucciu, the Professor of the University of Bologna, Felice Adinolfi, the CEO of John Deere (Italy), Marzio Devalle and the Commissioner of the Reclamation Consortium, Battista Ghisu.
The “Le Stagioni d’Italia” Herbal Teas
Guests visiting the 3 Sassu Center, the company’s production site and renovated thanks to an extraordinary architectural restoration, expressed words of appreciation for the variety and quality of the crops that stand out as far as the eye can see: organic crops of wheat, vegetables, legumes and officinal herbs. Officinal herbs represent the crown jewel of the Sardinian estate: marjoram, thyme, helichrysum, peppermint, mallow, chilli and many others; here begins their journey, which continues in Cortona for the processing and packaging of those that will become the herbal teas of the “Le Stagioni d’Italia” brand.
Walking on the Sardinian estate, plunging into the colors of the fields, being embracing by the perfumes and the amplified aromas of the great extensions of aromatic herbs constitute the visual representation of what happens in our homes every time we open a bag of “Le Stagioni d’Italia” herbal tea. A triumph for senses, the unequivocal proof of the excellent work carried out by Bonifiche Ferraresi. A unique objective: to bring the quality of large 100% Italian agriculture through the direct control of the production supply chain – from the seed to the shelf, to the final consumer – in full respect of the ecosystem in which its activities are inserted.
